Pros / Cons – Blocking & Monitoring of Web & Social Media Use

Yours truly was recently invited to provide a guest post for IT Online’s Frontline blog. The material is inspired by Daniel Pink’s thoughts on trust and autonomy expressed in his book, Drive. A grateful thanks goes to Minda Zetlin, who edited my material; she also co-authored of The Geek Gap, a book focused on enabling business & technical folks to communicate effectively.

Please share your thoughts on considering the long view versus simply applying the hammer with respect to their organization’s web surfing and social media policies because that approach is faster, easier, cheaper.
